Our FarmGate is open to the community 7 days a week, from 7 am to 7 pm.
It runs on trust – an honesty system where you simply choose what you need and pay by cash or bank transfer.
Everything on the shelves has a story. We preserve what we grow in our own permaculture garden, what our neighbours and nearby farms have in abundance, and even good food rescued from supermarket surplus that might otherwise be wasted. The result is wholesome, nourishing food made with care – jams, ferments, broths, and other small-batch preserves that keep the seasons alive year-round.
At the heart of it all is a belief in low-waste living, high-nutrition food, and strong community connections. When you shop here, you’re not just taking home something delicious – you’re helping build a more resilient, caring food system for us all.

Good Eggs
Whilst not falling strictly into a specific category, our chickens are raised somewhat on pasture, somewhat in a large yard with access to mulberry, lemon & tea trees. They are fed quality grain and vegetable scraps, saved from entering landfill. They are mixed, mostly heritage breed birds. This produces different sizes and colours of eggs, to make your diet and mealtimes diverse and interesting. The eggs remain unwashed (to preserve their bloom and help them last longer).
When my egg supply runs low, we also stock eggs from Pans Forest (a regenerative farm in Woodville) - to ensure there’s always eggy goodness available in the FarmGate fridge!
